Draped in Six Yards...!!

Hey everyone..

I have to attend a friend's engagement party tonight. I have finalized my dress. So I thought why not to share the look I am going to wear. I will be wearing SAREE...

Let me tell you something about Indian SAREE...

A sari or saree is a strip of unstitched cloth, worn by women, ranging from four to nine yards in length that is draped over the body in various styles which is native to the Indian Subcontinent. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder, baring the waist region.

Here is the picture of what I will be wearing for the function with a brocade blouse ::

Well this is my mom's saree and I have promised her not to ruin it. (I hope I won't...I am so clumsy ) I hope i look good.

Some more of my favorites styles of sarees and designs. I am planning to add these to my collection.

Hope you like them..

  • Sonam Kapoor looks great in Red and black saree. P.S. I love the black blouse.

  •  White is an elegant and serene look for every occasion. Be it a office party or some other outing.

  • I love polka dots and flouro pink and yellow color makes it more girly. and I am just in my early 20 so  this is what I will be wearing for ethnic day at work. I hope it is still in stores :P

  • Another Girly saree..

  • Pacman print in saree.. its so fun.. :) And Sonam kapoor rocks it.

  • Another way to wear saree.. even I don't how to wear it but I will ask my girlfriends..(Some of them might be having any idea. )

Just to make sure I don't wear sarees everyday. I wear them hardly once or twice a year. But I just love them. How a woman draped in 6meter long saree can look sexy.!!! Ironic isn't it.!!!

Well I still have to decide on my accessories and hairstyle.. (hmmm...)

I hope you enjoyed a little peek to my culture and a glimpse of indian fashion.

Namaste...!!!

Arm Candy:: Decoded...!!!

"It's not what you spend but how you wear it that counts. The key is often to dress up inexpensive basics with accessories. Something like a beautiful designer bag or belt can make everything else look richer and more luxurious."

Well we all girls have admiration for bangles or bracelets. So why not to combine them and make an eye catching "arm candy". Sometimes a well formed arm candy can make a simple outfit make extraordinary.
Here is what I decoded ::

  • "Stack your bracelets (better if they are of different shades and colors)".
  • You can also add your favorite wrist watch to make it look more classy and more workable.
  • There is no limit to the number of bangles or bracelets. Whatever works for you is the perfect number.
  • Monochrome or multicolored :: both looks good.
Here is some images for inspiration ::

Braid Up...!!!

As I am working women and for the real girls out there we all adore the hairstyles that we see in the movies and perfect wavy/straight hair.. not to mention those bangs that surprise me the most... they never move from their place(are those glued to your forehead) but when I got bangs that was a complete disaster.. I was not able to manage them for five minutes and finally ended up pinning them up. So we “The Real Girls”( who has to go out in sun, in wind, in crowd , have to use public transportation, have to work, have to talk to clients , to carry multiple things , to talk to our teams on phone along with eating our snack and many more things... ) find it hard to manage our hairs down because to be honest we don’t have the time to brush them up every other time. So this post is to give us some Chic yet Fantabulous ideas to do our hair and trust me you need to touch them up maybe once or never in the entire day.
Braids ....Yeah yeah.. I know what you all are thinking braids are boring but take a look at these braids. They are anything but boring...

So Girls “Braid Up”
I think these pictures have changed your opinion about braids. So which one are you planning to try first.

Namaste...

"C" Is for Chanel...!!!!

Since last week I was smitten by Coco Chanel I watched movies inspired from her personality and also I finished reading "THE GOSPEL According to Coco Chanel and I came across these wonderful rules that she used to follow and couldn't resist sharing.Hope you will like it ::
Twelve commandments for the women by none other than the LEGEND herself :: COCO CHANEL
  •    Since most women do not know themselves they should try to do so.
  •  A women that buys a expensive dress and changes it, often with disastrous  result, is extravagant and foolish.

  •  Most women (and men) are color-blind. They should ask for suggestions.
  • Remember 20% women have inferiority complex and 70% have illusions.

  •    90% women are afraid of being conspicuous, and of what people will say. So they buy a gray  suit. They should dare to be different.

  • Women should listen and ask for competent criticism and advice.
  • They should choose their clothes alone or in the company of a man.
  • They should never shop with another woman, who sometimes consciously or      unconsciously is apt to be jealous.
  • She should buy little and only of the best and cheapest.
  • Never fit a dress to the body, but train the body to fit the dress.

  •      A women should buy mostly in one place where she is known and   respected, and not rush around, trying every new fad
  •      And she should pay her bills.

   Nameste..!!
